Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading a high-performing team, setting policies, driving their implementation and acting as a primary contact point for all matters related to data privacy.
- Oversee and monitor the group's privacy and data protection compliance frameworks.
- Providing high-quality and timely advice to help navigate legal and compliance requirements.
- Design and deliver a privacy and data protection training and awareness program.
- Horizon scan to understand legislative developments relating to privacy and data protection.
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and attributes:
- UK qualified lawyer, at least 8+ PQE with a specialism in data privacy (however all candidates will be considered on merit).
- Previous experience in a software or technology business will be favourable.
- Strong knowledge of privacy and data protection law within other jurisdictions.
- Previous people leadership experience, ideally in an international business.
- A calm and confident manner to operate in a business where priorities are rapidly evolving.
- The ability to break down complex legal concepts into easy-to-understand advice for non-lawyers.
