Job Description

This is a great opportunity for a motivated Live Ops/Content Executive to work on a unique and highly successful (…and slightly odd) mobile free-to-play Trading Card Game. If you have ever wondered who would win if Beowulf and The Big Bang took on Robin Hood and the Triceratops, then this could be the game you’ve always wanted to play.

This is a great entry-level / early career position for someone keen on working in the video game industry.

If you think you are the right match for the following opportunity, apply after reading the complete description.

But instead - you’ll be working on it!

The game is Cards, the Universe and Everything (aka CUE). It is growing rapidly, and has won both Best Education App and Best Indie Game at the UK App Awards. It’s really not like other games; new cards come out every day and we change the rules every week (!), and all of our content is based on the real world.

Your role within CUE will be ensuring the smooth operation of the in-game store and release schedule. You will coordinate with the team to ensure that all data is present within internal systems from various planning sessions and discussions (Don’t worry about not knowing these systems yet, that’s what we’re here for!). This work will include data entry and other administrative tasks, with scope to get involved with other areas of LiveOps when necessary.

You are…

  • Well-organised with an excellent eye for detail
  • Comfortable learning new technical skills
  • A confident (but not overconfident) team player
  • Able to self-motivate when working remotely

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Creating, simulating and finalising Card Packs within Airtable
  • Configuring, implementing and troubleshooting new upcoming cards within Airtable
  • Management of weekly League rules in our backend
  • Using Git and Jenkins to ‘push’ to Production servers
  • Working with QA and Customer Services to ensure content is correct in-game prior to launch, with live corrections when needed
  • Setting up and maintaining in-game promotions, including banners and pop-ups

What do we offer?

We trust each other to get the work done. This means a high degree of flexibility and autonomy for the whole team. We’re all in contact throughout the day though - you won’t feel isolated.

  • Competitive salary.
  • 22 days holiday plus public holidays.
  • Plus an extra day for each year worked.
  • Remote-first working.
