Martis Search are representing a West End based, but global Financial Services company to hire a “Loans Administration Supervisor” to join their Investment Operations team.


The role is a permanent role and reports into a senior Operations Manager. The role is for a “hands-on” Loans Administration Manager to supervise and manage a team of 4 Loans Operations Analysts. The department is small and encompasses joint Loans Documentation/ Loans Middle Office and Loans Administration/ Loans Back Office responsibilities).


The person will be responsible for doing the actual day-to-day Loans Operations role, but also overseeing the day-to-day responsibilities of other Loans Operations staff and to also be responsible for the smooth management and running of the company’s Loans department.


This is an excellent opportunity for an established, but growing West End based Institutional Asset Manager.


Our client is looking for a “hands-on” Loans Administration Manager/ Supervisor/ Team Leader ideally from either Investment Banking, Asset Management, or Custody background.


The role will involve lots of different Loans Operations projects and streamlining of current (Loans) Operations processes. You will be required to come-up with new ideas and not be afraid to collaborate and think of new ways of working, putting those ideas onto paper, working with managers and implementing change. The department is only a few years old (after a re-build), so there is still so much scope for change.


There is also a lot of deadline and time pressure to each project, so you need to be able to work quickly and efficiently and get all requested projects done well, accurately and on time.

About the role


  • Team leader for Loan Administration
  • Manage priorities and workloads for themselves and other team members, ensuring deliverables are completed on time and to a high quality
  • Work with third party loan administrators in setting rates, interest dates, interest payments and accruals
  • Collaborate with the company’s legal and investment teams on all operational aspects of debt documentation
  • Manage the investment closing process for all debt investments
  • Monitor receipt of covenant reporting information
  • Provide reporting on the company’s debt portfolio
  • Be an advisor to the wider company on the debt portfolio
  • Identify and implement improvements to existing processes, ensuring process documentation is thorough and complete

About you


  • Experience as a team leader within a loan administration function at a financial institution
  • In-depth technical knowledge and expertise of debt products
  • In-depth technical knowledge and expertise on loan administration processes and loan agreements
  • In-depth understanding of loan administration systems, ideally eFront and Debt Domain
  • Ability to multi-task and balance team activities without losing sight of deadlines, processing transactions in an accurate and timely manner
  • Ability to proactively consult with a wide range of stakeholders and work with them to find solutions that satisfy a number of issues
  • Ability to develop and implement solutions to improve processes and systems across the team
  • Expert ability to navigate excel to identify and gather relevant information and able to present data in understandable ways for senior audiences
  • Experience working with emerging markets, particularly India, would be advantageous
  • Candidates should be strongly motivated by the company’s development mission and ideally demonstrate some commitment to development or social goals through previous executive or non-executive activity.


Salary


£85,000 k pa - £93,600 k pa dependent upon experience, plus very good holiday allowance, a very good pension, plus Healthcare, Life Assurance etc.
