Locum Adult Social Care Solicitor

6 months initial contract!

£55-60 per hour umbrella
Local Authority - London
Mostly remote working

Panoramic Associates are currently recruiting on behalf of a Local Authority based in London who are looking for a Locum Adult Social Care Solicitor to join them for an initial 6 months contract. The successful candidate will be able to work mostly remote with a requirement to attend the office just once per month.

The role will involve providing specialist legal advice to clients on a wide range of issues relating to Adult Social Care including Court of Protection, Mental Health and Ordinary Residence. You will be responsible for progressing and managing matters, advising the social care team on adult social care matters.

  • Attractive hourly rate - between £55-60 per hour umbrella
  • Remote working - attending the office once per month for a team meeting
  • Initial 6 months contract with strong likelihood of role being long-term
  • No need to attend court - Counsel instructed for court advocacy on authority's behalf
  • Standard hours - 35 per week however, up to 42 hours can be approved weekly if required.

Essential criteria:

  • A qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive or Barrister, alternatively, non-qualified Lawyers with substantial relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Good practical knowledge of The Care Act 2014, Mental Health Acts and the Mental Capacity Act 2005 including Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
  • Recent experience of working in a local authority setting advising on Adult Social Care matters.
  • Previous experience advising on or an interest in handling education matters would be desirable but not essential.
  • Experience of working independently with minimum supervision
