JOB TITLE: Logistics Specialist

DEPARTMENT: Logistics

REPORTING TO: Head of Logistics Manager


Job Summary


CDW have a position available for a Logistics Specialist to work with our Logistics team within our distribution centre.


You will be 1 of 6 Logistics Specialists working on international, Netherlands & UK mailboxes working with a range of partners to provide bespoke deliveries globally to 180+ countries.


You will work collaboratively to identify areas of improvement within processes and highlighting to leadership as well as supporting the development of processes to be proactive, efficient & scalable.


You will handle queries, escalations, issues and communicate with the relevant stakeholders & CDW partners as required.


Given the nature of our work we can have regular changes affecting any of the destinations we ship to and as such you will work to update internal documentation and databases as import requirements change and develop


The ideal individual will have an excellent track record showing a high level of compliance with Dangerous Goods & Export Licence processes as well as all other processes and be an advocate for new and current processes.


You will be able to flex between day to day work to assist & cover other Logistics Specialists as required having excellent time management skills and have an excellent ability to prioritise tasks appropriately

This role is within a warehouse environment and not office based, you must be prepared to get involved with physical work as this role will involve an element of physical shipping and loading of goods.


Responsibilities


  • Utilisation of in-house systems (NAVision)
  • Working with CDW’s Logistics Partners and internal teams to co-ordinate specialist deliveries within UK, Europe or Worldwide via Road, Sea & Air Freight
  • Performing daily function within SLA’s and processes provided
  • Adhering to and adapting to new logistics processes as and when they are implemented
  • Ensuring absolute customs compliance and applying for export licences
  • Working with partners & carriers to provide Importer of Record Services
  • Shipping export licence products in adherence with compliance processes
  • Obtaining export documentation & arranging pre-inspections
  • Ensure recordkeeping is maintained in line with HMRC requirements
  • Cost optimisation without impact to service levels• Project rollout management
  • • Keeping Sales up to date with progress of all orders through to delivery
  • Taking ownership of problems through to resolution and ensuring proactive approach to problems
  • Completing other tasks as and when assigned
  • Adhering to and adapting to new logistics processes as and when they are implemented
  • Following of on-site HSE & Security Policies
  • Ensure daily routines are followed & to maintain a high level of housekeeping
