Job Description

We are looking to appoint a Clinical Research Programme Manager to work as part of the Mental Health Mission in the Mental Health Research for innovation Centre (M-RIC) aligned to the NIHR Mental Health Translational Research Collaboration and which sits within a ground-breaking new university Centre; Civic Health Innovation Labs (CHIL)

M-RIC is an ambitious programme of work jointly delivered between University of Liverpool and Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust (MCFT). It will have wide reaching benefits to the region whilst raising the profile of all partners as leaders in Mental Health Innovation.

We are seeking a Clinical Research Programme Manger to manage a portfolio of projects across a number of themes and work streams in mental health innovation. You will:

  • Develop and support the implementation of M-RIC clinical research programmes including clinical trial planning set up and delivery.
  • Work collaboratively with M-RIC Industry partners to deliver competitive Mental Health Clinical trials in line with the Mental Health Mission objectives.
  • Work with M-RIC Core Investigators to drive the delivery of M-RIC work package objectives.
  • Contribute to and manage plans for future funding sources and sustainability of M-RIC Clinical Research Programmes.
  • Report to CHIL Head of Research Partnerships and Programmes and will work closely with internal and external stakeholders across CHIL and MCFT to support innovation across key thematic areas.
  • Act as a key member of the delivery team, lead with transparency and integrity, supporting inclusion and diversity in all aspects of M-RIC, its work and its wide-reaching impacts.
  • Be highly organised and structured with the ability to create solutions to complex problems.
  • Have a thorough understanding and experience of research delivery within an NHS and clinical trials environment.
  • Have experience and expertise in research governance processes and requirements to setup and deliver research trials and studies in mental health, overseeing delivery across the life cycle of the trial or study.
  • Work collaboratively and inclusively to build systems that work across boundaries.
  • Understand the need for openness and transparency in the field of health innovation.
  • Be driven by the desire to improve health outcomes.
  • Understand the need for a Team Science approach to impactful delivery.

You should have Degree in a relevant subject, equivalent qualification, or relevant professional experience.

The is a fixed term post available until 31 December 2027.

Although the university has a hybrid working system, the expectation is that the successful applicant appointed to this role will be expected to work more than 50% on campus.

£45,585 to £57,698 per annum
