Job Description

Role Purpose: Accountable for providing management and leadership to the Maintenance Control Engineers, manage base maintenance inputs, ramp/ADD maintenance planning, and manage outsourced line maintenance. The role is to ensure all maintenance is performed efficiently to deliver a safe reliable and compliant aircraft from maintenance to Operations. Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities of the role: Accountable for providing leadership and technical advice to the Maintenance Control department; Accountable for providing day to day management of the Maintenance Control Department ensuring sufficient manpower is available to support the operation; Responsible for creating an environment for the team to flourish and perform to a high and consistent standard, motivating, engaging, and coaching; Responsible for assessing learning and development needs to create plans to support development and deliver appropriate skills mix to assure continuity and succession planning, coordinating development of the team through a range of interventions, e.g. cross training, rotation of roles etc; Ensuring the highest possible reliability and on time performance are achieved; Accountable for acting as escalation point for operational decisions (non-airworthiness) including AOG recoveries; Responsible for Using AMOS to create line work packages and/or work orders, detailing maintenance tasks to be accomplished on Line maintenance inputs. Issuing work packages and/or work orders to Part 145 organisation with clear instruction of any specific requirements; Responsible for building effective working partnerships across both internal and external functional departments, key stake holders and influencers within One Air, OEM’s, Vendors, and operational support organisations; Responsible for supporting and assisting other departments in their investigation into safety incidents, reports and audit findings, where issues are identified, or advice is requested relating to Maintenance Operations activities; Accountable for acting as the Emergency Response ”Go Team” Engineer for incidents; Accountable for monitoring 3rd party base maintenance performance/activity ensuring quality standards are met and maintained; Ensuring all elements of any interface agreements are being met by the contracted MRO; Ensuring contents of work packs are entered and reported back on time, and AMOS forecast reflects the up-to-date status of the A/C; Acting as a focal point and interface between the contracted MRO and One Air; Responsible for building and maintaining positive relationships with contracted MRO and service providers, resolving issues immediately; Accountable for keeping Maintrol and OCC informed at all times of any issues that relate to the on-time departure of the A/C; Responsible for providing detailed status reports and feedback to senior management and Maintrol during all outsourced base maintenance activities; Responsible for managing and participating in Post Incident Checks and subsequent meetings; Responsible for contributing to continuous improvement across processes, systems and Team working; Responsible for carrying out operational safety and security responsibilities as a priority; Accountable for promoting safety and the safety policy at all times; Key skills , knowledge, Experience required/desirable: (i.e. those required to fulfil the role, including qualifications): Proven extensive knowledge of Part-CAMO regulations; Qualified Part 66 B1and/or B2 AML with B747-400 and B777 Type Rating; Proven expertise in Aircraft Systems/Structures/Powerplant; Driving Licence; Ability to demonstrable experience in using Technical Manuals / Publications in the repair of Aeronautical products and systems; Proven maintenance control supervisory/managerial experience; Proven Contracting and negotiation skills; Proven very good Excel skills and good general IT, and computing skills; Proven interpersonal skills – personable, team oriented; Ability to work under pressure and manage own and team priorities in an organised way; Demonstrates flexibility, versatility, pro-active and being dynamic in previous roles; Ability to work across appropriate role boundaries when required; Demonstrates commitment to continued professional development; Adaptable and creative; Go Team first Response trained; Qualified Part CAMO experience/completed training; Qualified AMP/MSG3 completed training; Experience of AMOS; Knowledge of Aviation industry, specifically Airline operations; Additional relevant information: The post holder will be required to work flexibly which can be during unsocial hours and may be required to work overseas on occasion.
