Job Description

OnePlace Solutions are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Technician to join our client on a temp to perm basis. Position Overview: The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the day-to-day preventative and reactive maintenance activities in their designated area and will initiate and be involved in process improvement and project activities. The Maintenance Technician reports directly to the Engineering Team Leader. Primary Responsibilities: Work closely with other Technicians, Operators, Team Leaders and Managers in own and other departments Work safely and always promotes safe working practices and in compliance with national and company standards Maintain plant and equipment such as reaction/mixing vessels, decant stations and pumping systems Conduct safety and condition checks and on plant and equipment across the site but mainly in your designated area Ensure Emaint is updated to track maintenance activities and records Planning Maintenance activities, reactive or preventive, and communicating with the Planning and Production teams Ensure that reactive and preventive maintenance work lists are completed on time Escalate to the Engineering Team Leader any unresolve constraints Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with all company procedures including maintenance procedures, permits, risk assessments and method statements Stand in for other Technicians to cover holidays and other periods of absence as required Carry out other reasonable tasks and duties as requested by the Team Leader or Management Maintain high standards of housekeeping in all areas of the maintenance department and when working on site Help create and develop standard maintenance operating procedures Conduct relevant risk assessments in conjunction with the compliance team Provide effective administration and work within the Company Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Systems Support other members of the Engineering Team with the feasibility, specification, procurement and installation of new plant and equipment Minimum Requirements: Qualified to HNC/HND level or equivalent in a relevant subject Appropriate IT skills (competent user of Emaint, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and the company ERP system) Permit writing (depending on sign-off authority and experience) DSEAR (Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulation 2002) awareness PID (Pipework and Instrumentation Diagram) awareness Committed to achieving excellence in equipment availability and reliability FLT License is beneficial Preferred Requirements: Positive attitude, self-motivated, flexible, and adaptable with a hands-on approach Good team worker and the ability to work without close supervision Good time management Able to communicate effectively at all levels.
