Job Description

HYBRID WORKING OPPORTUNITY - 2 DAYS FROM HOME, 3 DAYS ONSITE
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Management Accountant will be responsible for the effective delivery of the monthly management accounts. They will also be responsible for maintaining the robust financial controls in place and managing a team of 5. Key to the role will be an ability to simplify and improve on regular tasks as well as adapting to a changing environment.
Responsibilities:
Preparation of the monthly accounts. It will require hands on detailed involvement to produce the final accounts with variance analysis and reporting to the Financial Controller
Support to be provided to the wider finance team including accounts and purchase ledge
Monthly Balance sheet reconciliations and audit checklist preparation
Manage year-end financial reporting, including preparation of the UK statutory accounts, tax packs and liaising with external auditors during the process
Assist with preparation of HMRC tax returns and quarterly VAT returns
Implement process improvements and support the integration of Cognos reporting into the financial reporting of the business.
Support the FC on ad-hoc work.
Compliance with the DCC (Parent Company) Code of Conduct and other Group Policies
Participate in risk and compliance reviews to ensure group compliance standards and controls are effective and improved on.
Any other duties as may be reasonably required.

Requirements
You'll be a high calibre part-qualified/qualified ACA/CIMA/ACCA accountant, preferably with a practice background with minimum 2-3 years management reporting experience in industry.
Key Competencies:
Strong IT skills including excel
Preferably with knowledge of SAP accounting system
Proven ability to assist with auditing processes
Strong management accounting background
Good communication skills
