Job DescriptionOur Finance Manager is looking for an ambitious Management Accountant to join their high performing team. In this role you will primarily be responsible for the accounting, analysis and administration of our Network of Depots and out Owner Driver Department. Other key duties include;Key Tasks/Areas of ResponsibilityWorking closely with the Finance Manager on specific projectsDeveloping strong relationships across the business and with external stakeholdersManagement of Weekly Financial P/ L including revenue analysis, monthly and year end reporting. While being able to consolidate the information into concise reportsCompiling annual plans and presenting on these to Senior Management team membersPreparation of monthly Balance sheetsIdentifying cost savings and efficienciesReview and redesign existing processes to facilitate decision makingPositive ‘can-do’ attitude is crucial for this roleQualificationsAbout YouIdeally you will be a commercially astute and fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with at least 12 months post qualification practical experience. We would also expect you to hold a minimum of a 2:1 degree in any discipline and Grade C or above GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English. You will have a right first time mentality and a solid grasp of management accounting principles/ practices. Strong financial awareness, experience of group reporting, and the ability to monitor your performance against deadlines and milestones is criticalYou’ll also be able to evidence:Proven experience of operating at a senior management accountant or equivalent level role, coupled with the know-how and confidence to present clear and simple results.Outstanding analytical skills and attention to detail: able to analyse numerical data, verbal data and all other sources of information quickly and effectively.Have good planning and organisational skills, and the ability to meet multiple deadlines.Advanced Excel plus a good knowledge of reporting tools.First rate communication and interpersonal skills, Demonstrate the core DPD DNA values of Passion, Respect, Honesty, Flexibility, Hard Work and Accountability.Additional InformationAbout our BenefitsWe recognise that our people are at the heart of our business, without them we wouldn’t be able to deliver our award-winning service to millions of customers across the country each day.
