About Our Client
The client is a Public Sector organisation, based in Nottinghamshire.
Job Description
- Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes
- Help with quarterly and year-end financial audit activities and the annual corporate financial controls audit
- Assist with the preparation of the budget, financial forecasts and report variances
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
The Successful Applicant
A successful Management Accountant should have:
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Professional Skills (eg. CIMA)
- Proven working experience as a Management Accountant
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
- Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
