Job Description

DESCRIPTION MAIN INTERACTIONS KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DECISIONS Enables commercialisation by enabling positive reimbursement/ HTA decisions which drive product listing and optimal pricing Manages HTA readiness and execution by leading development and communication of core HTA strategy, ensuring EU consistency Leads disease and health economic modelling, from strategy and design, through building, validation and vendor management, to presentation and publication Manages delivery of core European HEOR materials and supports European affiliate adaptations Co-ordinates alignment with Global and other regional (e.g. US, Canada, Asia-Pacific) HTA/HE strategy, as well as aligning with Business Unit and Alliance Partner strategies Supports the timely and appropriate engagement of formal HTA Scientific Advice in key European countries, and manages relevant cross-functional teams to ensure advice is high quality and well understood Collaborates with the Global Real World Evidence and Value team to develop and deliver key evidence to meet HTA requirements and contribute to value messaging Working in, and managing, complex cross functional matrix teams, to develop strategies that proactively shape HTA preparation and delivery as well as supporting mature product life cycles KEY RESPONSIBILITIESS & DECISIONS Manages the development, implementation and communication of core European HTA submission strategy Provides flexible support to affiliate teams throughout the HTA process in dossier development and evidence synthesis, as well as co-chairing HTA sub teams Provides full life-cycle HE/HTA expertise from Business Development and early pipeline support, through early phase development and pre-launch preparations to in-market and mature product support Seeks external scientific advice (both formal or informal) to inform and solidify HTA strategy and requirements, as well as wider therapy area planning (e.g. Evidence generation and reimbursement potential) Manages the development of core European disease and pharmaco- economic modelling projects Ensures high quality health economic arguments are available for mature products Contributes strategy, advice and expertise to the development of value messages and dossiers Contributes cross-country best practice/ strategy sharing Manages HTA/HE budget efficiently LEADERSHIP & BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES FOR THIS POSITION ARE: Excellent matrix leadership and collaboration Partnership working Planning and execution Effective and influential written and verbal communication Influencing skills Provide supportive challenge to senior internal and external stakeholders Strong communication and interpersonal skills, written and verbal Ability to influence complex networks Technical health economic understanding Collaborative working Communication Influencing Stakeholder management (internal and external) FUNCTIONAL & TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES FOR THIS POSITION ARE: Strong working knowledge of Health Economic methods and economic evaluation Ability to confidently execute across the product life-cycle with minimal support Working knowledge of the processes of key European HTA/reimbursement systems Commercial acumen with ability to convey the impact of HTA to the business Strategic thinking and implementation Critical thinking, analysis and problem solving HTA strategy and execution Pan-EU strategy Matrix working Strategic analysis Budgeting Outcomes Research Clinical trial and statistical analysis appreciation for HTA Brand strategy Pipeline strategy ACTIVITIES FOCUS HTA Execution – 35% Health Economic Delivery – 35% HTA & Access strategy development – 10% Lifecycle Management – 5% Early Phase Strategy – 5% Cross Functional Strategy and Alignment – 10% QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE A postgraduate qualification in Health Economics, Economic Evaluation or similar discipline Appropriate prior industry experience, ideally including: An understanding of pharmaco-economic modelling and economic evaluation An understanding of best practice in literature reviewing and indirect comparison methodologies An understanding of the processes of European HTA An appreciation of the role of health economics for assets at all phases of drug development
