Job Description

Our Data Team is made up of 50+ people, covering data engineering, data science, and data architecture specialisms.

The team works with a range of public and private sector clients, building production grade cloud solutions focussed on streaming, graph, big data, and data science use cases.

You will work with an exciting range of clients, helping them to strategically extract value from their data through the delivery of hands-on machine learning projects and data science innovation.

Job Description

Due to the nature of the client engagements, every employee needs to be able to achieve Security Clearance. This means that you need to have the right to take up employment within the UK, do not have or require any visa to work, and have been resident in the UK for at least 5 years without any gap(s) totalling more than 6 months.

You should be able to easily commute to our London office. For some roles/projects, travel to the clients offices will be required and the frequency is often determined by the client.

Key responsibilities of the role are summarised below:

Build predictive models and machine-learning algorithms for structured data

Be a source of expertise for unstructured data science knowledge including video, image and audio

Leading and/or developing creative solutions to problems using machine learning techniques and MLOps practice

Keeping up to date with current high impact work in the machine learning field, specialising in one area such as deep learning

Innovating with new ideas and providing thought leadership on client projects

Communicating findings, results or proposals internally and externally (presentation and documentation)

Identifying and helping address gaps in knowledge in the AI team and within project work

Qualifications

We will need you to have experience in:

Apply statistics, probability and machine learning techniques to structured data to derive insights

Using traditional and deep learning methods to solve image related problems e.g. classification of x-rays, deep fake classification and synthetic image generation

Prior experience running data science projects, and an appreciation of the associated risks

Advanced level of Python (including mastery of syntax, an understanding of functional programming concepts and strong debugging skills)

Experience using numerical/language libraries for data science like tensorflow, pytorch or spacy

Strong understanding of approaches to problem solving using statistical methods or modelling

Experience of working in a collaborative, agile team environment with a focus on continuous knowledge sharing

Great interpersonal skills and an ability to build strong working relationships with our internal and external clients

It would also be great if you could bring any of the following skills with you:

Experience developing and mentoring junior staff

A track record of contributions to the data community

Experience in deploying machine learning models

Ability to translate paper to code

Comfortable using the cloud for data processing and machine learning projects
