Key Objectives
  • Ensure the submission of first-class documents to our customers on time and to the correct scope and desired quality
  • Manage and deliver projects to the required profitability margins
  • Build good client relationships and deliver repeat business with existing clients

Main Responsibilities

  • Be the client-facing Project Manager for each commission
  • Manage multiple client relationships and have the ability to carefully manage competing priorities
  • Deliver projects within agreed budget and maximise profitability margins
  • Proactively manage BQ production team on daily basis, providing necessary support and taking appropriate intervention measures where required to ensure successful delivery to client requirements
  • Manage the Technical Query process on assigned projects
  • Agree variations in timely manner throughout commission
  • Administer each project in line with the terms and conditions of contract agreed including applications for payment, notices etc.
  • Hold pre-start meetings with the clients to understand their requirements and desired outputs
  • Hold internal pre-start meetings with assigned BQ production teams, set achievable targets and prepare our internal pre-start briefing document
  • Hold daily meetings with the BQ production teams to check on progress and assist with technical issues
  • Prepare and answer TQ’s to be sent onto the client, discuss and implement the responses with the BQ production teams
  • In the absence of TQ responses use your experience to propose reasonable assumptions to allow the commission to remain on programme
  • Keep in regular contact with the client’s team to keep then up to date with progress
  • Hold formal mid-term review meetings with clients
  • Conduct a detailed QA of the BQ’s to ensure all aspects of the scope have been delivered and the bills/pricing documents are to the agreed Soben standard
  • Conduct a detailed gap analysis of each commission
  • Ensure all financial governance is adhered to on assigned projects
  • Ensure all aspects of the Soben system and detailed QA process are executed on each project
  • Have a detailed working knowledge of the prepared documents
  • Take accountability for sign-off and submission
  • Provide post-submission client care and be the point of contact for all post submission queries
  • Be at the forefront of continuous improvement in the delivery of our service
  • Support the UK Directors in all business matters as required
  • Build good working relationships with our client’s estimators to ensure repeat business
  • Be willing to travel on occasion to our clients offices in the UK and on occasion Europe
  • Provide effective coaching and mentoring to the junior members of our team
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications/ Relevant Experience

  • Preferably educated to degree level (or equivalent) standard
  • MRICS is desirable
  • Minimum of 5 years post-graduate experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Driven, enthusiastic and committed to ongoing professional development
  • BOQ
  • Pre-contract experience
  • Previous management experience would be useful, as would working within a building services environment
  • Must possess excellent communication and negotiation skills, together with a common sense and flexible approach
