Job Description

Due to significant new long-term orders and company growth, a leading aerospace group has a new vacancy for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join the team. Manufacturing complex engineered components the company have substantial growth plans and the successful appointment will have responsibility for NPI, strategy development, business improvement and the development of the engineering team. Candidates must have previous experience working in a precision machining environment and aerospace experience a preferable but not essential.


Commutable from: Blackburn, Burnley, Manchester, Bolton, Rochdale, Bolton, Accrington, Bradford, Wigan.

Salary: £ 60,000 - £ 80,000 p.a. + car allowance + healthcare + benefits

The Role

Coordinate all aspects of New Product Introduction (NPI).
Lead and develop the skills and capabilities of the manufacturing engineering team.
Develop capable processes and standard work within manufacturing engineering and manufacturing operations.
Partner with corporate engineering group and centre of excellence based in the EU to drive companywide best practices.
Drive continuous improvement plans and a lean methodology throughout the business.
Ensure coordination with other departments to develop a unified approach for processing new products or improving existing products.
Manage the engineering budget, develop capital investment plans for technology and expansion of existing capabilities.
Optimise process capability.
Development of best practice manufacturing processes
Coaching and mentoring the use of six sigma tools and techniques within the team.


The Candidate

Bachelor's Degree (preferred in Engineering)
Experience in a precision machining manufacturing environment.
Excellent leadership, mentoring and influencing skills with ability to inspire and motivate others.
Proven track record of successful NPI.
Aerospace experience preferred but not essential.
Ability to prioritise responsibilities under pressure.
