Job Description

We are looking to recruit a Manufacturing Technician to join our Manufacturing team based at our factory in Whitley.
Main Purpose of Role:
Our manufacturing facility, based in Whitley, delivers products to all UK customers as well as worldwide. As a Manufacturing Technician you will provide the highest quality of repair and maintenance to a wide range of company equipment. In this 6-month Fixed Term Contract role you will be working alongside another Manufacturing Technician, focused on repairing printed circuit boards (PCBs).
The Ideal candidate:
To be successful in this role you will have a level 3 electrical / Electronic engineering qualification or equivalent relevant experience. You will have proven hands on experience of working with printed circuit boards (PCB) and fault finding down to a component level using a wide range of test equipment. You will be a good communicator, collaborative in your approach, with a proactive, 'can-do' attitude, able to demonstrate problem solving and analytical skills.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
  • Must be able to identify functions of a circuit using a circuit diagram,
  • Be able to provide a good technical explanation of a fault,
  • Maintaining good, accurate, concise repair records,
  • Effectively repair existing and new equipment,
  • Designing basic test equipment to aid repair, which is of good quality construction, reliable, and meets all relevant health and safety standards.
  • Deliver training and direction to other colleagues,
  • Managing multiple tasks effectively and to tight timescales,
  • Create basic test procedures, allowing testing of the product to be handed down to another technician (or operator),
  • Highlight any issues or problems to relevant departments as required,

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
  • ONC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent appropriate experience,
  • Experience of fault finding down to component level using a wide range of test equipment,
  • Good IT Skills,
  • Able to plan and proritise multiple tasks effectively ensuring quality deliver to required timescales,
  • Target driven, able to work to key performance indicators (KPIs),
  • Able to demonstrate effective problem solving and analytical skills.
  • An effective team worker, collaborative in approach, able to coach and train others,
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written,
  • Customer focused.
  • Any knowledge of manufacturing processes and operations is highly desirable.
