Job Description

We are urgently seeking ten (10) skilled and experienced Marine Electrician to join our team in UK. The Marine Electrician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting electrical systems and equipment onboard ships, vessels, and other marine structures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marine electrical systems and a commitment to upholding the highest safety and quality standards.


Location: North Devon, United Kingdom

Job type: 3 months contract with extensions

Benefits: £27 per Hour + £65 accommodation Allowance per day


Responsibilities:

  • maintain, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and components onboard ships, vessels, and marine structures.
  • routine inspections and tests to ensure the proper functioning of electrical systems and identify any issues or malfunctions.
  • electrical problems and perform repairs in accordance with technical specifications and safety standards.
  • electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to determine the layout and wiring configurations of electrical systems.
  • and connect wiring, cables, fixtures, and other electrical components, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • with other members of the engineering team, including mechanical engineers and technicians, to ensure seamless integration of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • to safety protocols and procedures, including proper handling of electrical equipment, tools, and materials, and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • accurate records of work performed, including maintenance logs, inspection reports, and equipment inventories.


Requirements:

  • school diploma or equivalent; completion of a vocational training program or apprenticeship in marine electrical systems is preferred.
  • experience as a Marine Electrician or in a similar role, preferably in the maritime industry.
  • knowledge of marine electrical systems, including AC and DC systems, generators, motors, switchboards, lighting, navigation equipment, and communication systems.
  • with marine electrical regulations, standards, and classification society requirements (e.g., ABS, DNV, Lloyd's Register).
  • in interpreting electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • to work effectively in a team environment and independently with minimal supervision.
  • troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • to work flexible hours and travel as required.
