You will have a passion for understanding howcomplex systemswork andwill relish the prospect of developing your skills in a role that combines data-driven analysis with traditional relationship-basedreporting.Your role will includeengaging with market participants, writing news articles andmarketanalysis,as well as assessing prices. The environment is fast-pacedbut values careful thought. You will enjoy collaborative work with colleagues from a range of backgrounds, many located in Argus’ other offices around the globe.There are opportunities totravel andattend industry events,and to develop networks/specific market knowledge, as well as topresent at industry conferences and lead webinar sessions.The role wouldbe ideally suited to acuriousself-starter with an interest in the energy industry, andwho enjoyscultivating sources and writingmarket-moving stories.In your first six months you will undergo intensive training to learn about the market you will cover and develop a range of soft and technical skills. Our training programme combines workshops and seminars with training in your team.Key Responsibilities•Monitor and assess markets to produce daily price assessments, market analysis, news and reports•Engage daily with the industry to ensure a close understanding of market developments through daily contact with key market figures to build relationships and gather news•Contribute high-quality and original copy to the report and the on-line news service, following house style•Help to build and curate data sets that help explain market dynamics •Attend meetings, conferences and industry events to build contacts, report on news and represent ArgusSkills and Experience•Educated to bachelor’s degree level from a leading university•Previous experience in business/data journalism or in energy markets preferred but not essential•Self-motivation and initiative to drive projects forward with the ability to meet tight deadlines•Excellent writing and grammar skills•Excellent communication skills with the ability to network and build contacts with industry executives and internally.•Proficiency/past experience working with ExcelAttributes •Demonstrable interest in global business and politics •Self-motivated, able to use initiative and equipped with an inquisitive nature•Strong social skills and team-orientedWhat’s in it for youOur rapidly growing, award-winning business offers a dynamic environment for talented, entrepreneurial professionals to achieve results and grow their careers.
