Who we are

Talbot is an international insurer and reinsurer operating within the Lloyd’s market through Syndicates 1183 and 2019. We have been part of AIG since 2018 and our ambition is to be AIG’s Centre of Excellence at Lloyd’s. Headquartered in London, Talbot has offices in New York and Singapore and over 300 people working across these three locations.

Syndicate 1183 underwrites multiple classes of business including Political Violence/Terrorism, Marine and Aviation War, Energy (off-shore and on-shore), Marine and Energy Liability, Hull, Cargo and Specie, Political Risk, Property, Accident and Health, Financial Lines, Cyber, Alternative Risks, Non-Physical Cyber and Treaty Reinsurance.

Syndicate 2019 reinsures premium written by AIG’s Private Client Group, covering Homeowners, Auto, General Specie and other products. 

About the role

What you need to know:

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced marketing and communications professional to join our team on a 12 month fixed term contract. Reporting directly into the CEO, you will have the opportunity to work with the senior leadership team and get involved in lots of exciting projects over the next 12 months.

Some of the key responsibilities include:

  • Evolve and implement the marketing communications strategy / vision giving a ‘clear direction of travel’, aims and goals for marketing communications across Talbot.
  • Create marketing and communications material from scratch
  • Manage and develop marketing communication resources.
  • Working with the CEO, Executive Committee and other stakeholders leading internal communication across Talbot, managing the Talbot Communications ‘brand’ ensuring communications are coordinated and delivered to a recognised consistently high standard.
  • Develop external marketing material raising awareness of Talbot’s capabilities in the London and international markets.
  • Ensure all marketing communications meet organisational standards and brand guidelines.
  • Maintain a strong up to date working knowledge of marketing communication techniques and use these where appropriate.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience in developing and implementing marketing and internal communication strategies and content
  • Practical knowledge and experience of tactical delivery of external and internal marketing communication techniques and tools.
  • Able to identify market opportunities for Talbot and respond accordingly.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills across all levels, up to and including CEO, CUO and Executive Committee.
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and influencing skills.
  • Experience in copywriting, editing and proofing.
  • Media, public relations and crisis management experience desirable.
