Job description Job responsibilities Main DutiesWork with the Chief Executive and Board to develop astrategic marketing and communications strategy to position the organisationboth regionally and nationally as a key player in innovative non-medicalservice development. Develop, implement andevaluate a range of integrated off/online marketing and communications tosupport the strategic objectives of Ways to Wellness. Ensure communication andmarketing plans are delivered on time and within budget. Line manage the Marketing andCommunications Officer (part time, two days a week), including objectivesetting, regular one to ones and appraisal.Work with the Ways to Wellnessteam to develop and deliver tailored communications and marketing plans for ourpilots and prototypes, ensuring we reach appropriate audiences in each case. Write, edit and proof-readengaging communications materials, ensuring compliance with our branding andkey messages. Developing and applying theWays to Wellness brand, including key messages and style guide, to ensuremessages are consistent. Strategic planning Developing an ambitious communications and marketing strategy, in linewith our strategic objectives and annual business planning. Overseeing the delivery of the strategy, with support from the staff teamand Board. Monitoring progress and reporting to CEO/Board/staff team as required. Relationship management Developing a network of strongrelationships with a wide range of stakeholders, so they understand how we cansupport them, what we are delivering, and what we have learned/achieved fromour work (specifically NHS, VCS, Local and Combined Authorities).Developing and maintaining relationshipswith key stakeholders who can help us to share our learning and raise ourprofile ( media, partners who offer conferences and training). Delivering communications that areappropriate for the audiences were trying to reach ( practitioners, policymakers, academics, voluntary sector partners, clients).Networking with stakeholders,including communication posts within the NHS, funders, partner organisationsand others.Maintaining productiverelationships with a range of suppliers. Working with the team/projects Workingwith Ways to Wellness staff and trustees to support the awareness and promotionof our projects and wider organisational communications and marketing goals.Supporting Ways to Wellnessprojects to plan and deliver their communications, in support of projectobjectives and to share learning with wider stakeholders.Ensuring learning is collectedand shared in a variety of ways, including case study examples and sharing ofdata on impact, reach and cost savings.Ensuring staff are familiarwith branding guidelines and principles, training new staff and volunteers asappropriate. Communications and social media Overseeing the planning anddelivery for all digital communications (including social media and website),including through paid campaigns where appropriate, and ensuring it remainsengaging and appropriate for our audiences. Working with the team tomonitor the performance of all digital communications and marketing.Developing and/or working withdesigners to develop and deliver non-digital communications (leaflets, posters,reports etc.) that support our organisational and project goals. Events Supporting the Chiefexecutive, Board members and other staff to prepare for attendance at nationaland local conferences including when giving a presentation or speaking at anevent. Leading on the development anddelivery of a regular programme of cross-sector conferences and events thatsupport our organisational goals.Representing Ways to Wellnessat external events that are being organised by our partners and stakeholders,as agreed with the Chief Executive. Media work Planning and deliveringtargeted media campaigns where appropriate, to raise the profile of theorganisation and our work. Proactively sourcepublications, events, awards and other communications channels to raise theprofile of Ways to Wellness and publicise our offer.Work with the Chief Executive,Board and other stakeholders to plan and evaluate media engagement and respondappropriately to media enquiries, sometimes out of hours. Monitoring and evaluation Monitor performance againstour objectives, and provide reports and updates to Board, Chief Executive andothers as required. Professional development Workingwith the Chief Executive to undertake continual personal and professionaldevelopment, taking an active part in reviewing and developing the roles andresponsibilities.Undertakingrelevant training as required.Engagingin developing professional relationships with the wider team. Person Specification Experience Essential Significant experience of operating at a senior level in terms of communications, marketing, public relations and journalism. Experience of managing and working with a wide range of stakeholders at a senior level. Experienced manager, able to support, guide and develop team members. Evidence of successfully managing complex projects on time and to budget. Experience of writing copy, editing and proof reading for a range of audiences. Experience of producing reports, promotional material, social media graphics and other marketing products using industry standard software and programs ( Canva). Experience of using coordinated social and other digital media as primary tools for marketing and communications. Experience of using analytics and other monitoring techniques to evaluate the effectiveness of on- and off-line communications and marketing. Understanding of equality and diversity, including knowledge of creating accessible content for a diverse range of audiences. Be up to date with current Marketing and Communications best practice. Experience of working with external consultants to deliver objectives. Good IT/digital skills including MS Office, CRM systems, email marketing tools, social media platforms and, not essential but some InDesign and Photoshop experience a bonus. CMS and website content management experience. Qualifications Essential Qualified to degree level, or equivalent relevant experience. Skills and Attributes Essential Strategic thinker, able to understand and deliver strategic goals. Cooperative team player, with a flexible and practical approach. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to turn complex information into accessible information, and outstanding relationship management skills. Ability to be self-motivated and work proactively, independently and as part of a team. Ability to develop and implement branding guidelines. Hard working, enthusiastic and creative; able to operate with a range of stakeholders, with a can-do attitude. Ability to prioritise, plan and remain efficient and organised, while dealing with a range of competing demands under pressure. Awareness of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and ability to maintain confidentiality in line with policies and procedures.
