The Role

This job is all about making MamaOwl’s communications and marketing even more beautiful, insightful and contributing to the growth of the brand. It involves brainstorming, planning and implementing MamaOwl’s marketing plan, creating newsletters, finding and liaising with contributors, instagram, google, events and shoots. Working closely with the rest of our small team. We are looking for an experienced marketeer, a great storyteller with great visual skills who is able to work both on their own and within a team.

The job is based onsite at our offices in Leyton, East London.

Role Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end campaign process from planning to execution, ensuring the right balance of storytelling and selling and ensure sufficient marketing coverage for our key
  • Continually look for brand partnerships which will enable us to drive business growth align with our goals and complement strategy.
  • Own and grow, our already successful, social channels and ensure up to date knowledge of these channels.
  • Plan and execute all our marketing content - online workshops, blog posts, instagram content and collaborations.
  • Work with team to plan and execute all launches.
  • Write, own and execute the MamaOwl marketing and promotional calendar and ensure its successful and seamless implementation to the business.
  • Work closely with Buying and Merchandising team, to understand the range architecture, concepts, and product attributes.
  • Play a key role in shaping MamaOwls communication strategy, driving performance through increased sales to more customers, establishing MamaOwl as the “go to” brand for natural kids clothing and toy needs.
  • Collaborate with creative teams to influence the creation of innovative, best-in-class content, brand initiatives and campaigns, that will set us apart from the rest of the market and address the needs of our customers.
  • Conduct competitor analysis, as well as tracking key category & market trends, identifying key learnings and opportunities for MamaOwl.
  • Work closely with the buying and merchandising teams to report on campaign performance, deliver quarterly marketing hindsight reports to the board.
  • Be proficient in analysing and interpreting market & retail data, communicating key take outs effectively to the MD and owner.
  • Engage the team to understand our customer segments, market dynamics and competitive landscape alongside the customer needs for each product across both new and long standing. Customers ensuring all insight is used to make informed decisions on the marketing strategy for growth and engagement.

The Experience We Are Looking For

  • Already a marketeer with at least 4 years experience in retail.
  • Strong understanding of customers and consumer insight.
  • A proven Fashion / Retail / E-commerce background.
  • Extensive knowledge in understanding consumer needs within the online retail environment.
  • Commercial understanding to inform marketing strategies.
  • An understanding of the Buying and Merchandising process.
  • An understanding of the US consumer is particularly valuable.
  • Digital marketing experience, someone who understands how to use multiple channels to drive customer engagement.
  • An up to date understanding of marketing channels, techniques, and tools (PPC, Email, Social, SEO, PR)

A Bit About You

  • A degree or higher level in Marketing and Communications
  • Great ideas and enthusiasm for natural fibres and conscious living.
  • An understanding of slow and conscious marketing.
  • Ability to implement and follow through a project.
  • Able to work well with others and build strong rapport and relationships across teams.
  • Excellent people skills and can influence at all levels with a positive attitude.
  • Superb written and verbal communication skills and an ability to understand how a parent/carer thinks when shopping for a baby/child.
  • Flexible in approach and strong on teamwork.
  • Intermediate Google Sheet, Excel and Powerpoint skills, as well as some experience working with project management tools and the likes of Later, Canva and other such marketing tools.

  • Proven track record of delivering against a plan.
  • An understanding of the market where MamaOwl sits.
