At Eliq, you'll be joining a fast growing SaaS startup that helps utility companies accelerate the clean energy transition and transform end-customer experience. Currently, we serve 15+ utilities with our SaaS service, energy analytics, white-label mobile apps, enabling millions of consumers to understand and manage their energy usage and are on a mission to reach 100s of millions of end-customers over the coming years. We raised our Series A in 2020 and have grown the team to 45 people, of which five are based in our London office with the CEO. 

You

A marketer with 5+ years of experience. Maybe you’ve been a director of marketing overseeing a team, or maybe you’ve overseen a specific program.

You’re looking to join a company with product market fit and the raw materials (great product, large market, happy users and clients) for growth, but still early enough that you can have a large impact. You have experience that’s relevant to our domain - maybe in SaaS or Energy and you’ve worked and thrived in roles with vague titles like “first marketing hire” that have abstract mandates like “make us grow.” You can point to experiences successfully creating and launching marketing programs.

You look at a company like us, and you have a vision for how to make it get big. You’re versatile and resourceful enough to figure out how to execute a strategy that employs subdisciplines in which you have just enough experience.

The role

As our Marketing Lead/Marketing Manager, you’ll partner with the company’s leadership team to refine our marketing strategy and messaging. As owner of product marketing, you’ll be working closely with Product Management and develop a deep understanding of the market and specific position in it. 

In parallel to the strategic work, your initial focus is going to be on building out a lead generation machine, leveraging resources in-house and among users and clients to produce and distribute content and working closely with Sales to capture new leads. 

In the longer term, you’ll be part of a growing sales team, and you’ll have the opportunity to grow into a CMO role as the business scales up.

As Eliq plays a key role in the business model transformation for utility companies and the clean energy transition as a whole, you’re positioned to make a large impact on the industry in your role as our Marketing Lead.

We suspect our marketing program will involve:

Positioning and messaging (define and amplify our who, what, why, how)

Content marketing (content frameworks, blogging, video, website, etc.)

Generating PR (running and eventually hiring resources) 

Paid advertising

We’ll be looking to you for the specific recipe.

Here are some of the questions we’ll be asking ourselves ~6 months post hire to determine whether the role was a success:

Did they oversee the execution of marketing initiatives that led to meaningful growth in inbound leads and new clients?

Have they been able to figure out how to get things done, given the resource constraints of a startup with no other current dedicated marketing staff?

Have they developed a deep understanding of our customer?

Have they cultivated our user community
