Working pattern: Flexible home working up to three days per week

Salary: Dependent upon experience


General Summary


Bonnier Books UK is looking for a creative, strategic and innovative marketing & publicity director to join its newly formed adult trade division, working across all its imprints and with authors such as Heather Morris, Donna Ashworth, T.M. Logan, Lynda La Plante, Stacey Halls and Wilbur Smith.


In this key leadership role, you’ll work directly with the MD, senior publishers and sales team to drive forward both author and divisional strategies for growth. You will lead the award-winning marketing and publicity teams and create best-in-class campaigns that drive sales.


You will be passionate about putting readers at the heart of publishing, be happy to challenge the status quo and have an entrepreneurial mindset. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of growing sales across multiple disciplines and will be an exceptional communicator.

Key responsibilities



  • Bring marketing and publicity teams together under one vision, building a strong team spirit and deliver a high-performance team culture.
  • Set the bar for campaign excellence, author care and return on investment.
  • Work on key high profile brand authors and title launches.
  • Provide best in class communication across the division and externally.
  • Be an outstanding people manager.
  • Be a strong and proactive voice in acquiring new authors and growing existing ones.
  • Work with MD and publishers to create and deliver imprint, genre and author growth strategies.

Qualifications and Experience



  • At least ten years’ experience in a marketing or publicity role, in the book trade or complimentary industries.
  • Excellent relationships with a wide range of agents and external contacts.
  • Significant experience of managing budgets and workload allocation.
  • Significant people management experience and experience of operating at a senior level within a division or company.
