M&E Design Engineer

Reading/Hybrid working - 2 days/week

MBNL deliver the mobile infrastructure that enables digital Britain. This is achieved by providing Property, Infrastructure and Operational services to EE/BT and Three.

The infrastructure directorate is accountable for the design, deployment and in life management of site infrastructure to meet safety, service and deployment requirements and enable EE/BT and Three to deliver their best customer experiences at the lowest cost.

Reporting into the MBNL Passive Infrastructure Design Team within the IMS Directorate, the M&E Design Engineer will drive cost-effective site design, developing products, guidance, and processes to support this goal. This is a hybrid role with 2 days per week onsite in our Reading office.

What you will do:

• Ensure that the design process recognises compliancy issues, current legislation, and standards.
• Provide technical expertise and advice for all technical design related matters as a Design Authority
• Be confident in leading negotiations with third parties.
• Form effective relationships with shareholders, partners, and delivery team members.
• Develop MBNL guidance to supplement developments within the M&E and enclosure space.
• Communicate the latest developments within MBNL guidance to internal and external parties.
• Support the Site Design team with queries relating to Concessions and Deviations approval.

What we are looking for:

• Skill in a wide range of construction methods, technology, and materials
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Problem solving and critical thinking.
• Computer literate for MS Word, MS Excel, Emails, MS PowerPoint.
• Significant infrastructure design experience with a Designer/PC.
• Ability to interpret and author documentation to a good standard.
• Construction knowledge/experience from a consultancy/contractor background.
