Job Description

Anderson Green Ltd is a leading privately owned Building Services Consultancy and we have a permanent vacancy for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer based within our Nottingham and Leeds Offices.

The Role:

The successful candidate will provide technical support and experience by working with our team of building services designers and Revit Technicians on a wide range of projects across varying market sectors, delivering services from inception / feasibility through to detailed and fully-coordinated design for installation purposes. RIBA stage 0 to 5.

Duties will include:

  • Liaise professionally with clients, professional teams, contractors and staff of all levels
  • Be responsible for the delivery of projects leading small mixed discipline team of Revit and building service engineers and administration support staff
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of current industry regulatory and design standards
  • Supervise and mentor junior engineering staff and apprentices providing clear guidance and direction.
  • Assist with the setting of design strategy
  • QA documents, design, drawings prior to issue, to ensure Anderson Green standards are maintained
  • Attend client, design team and project meetings
  • Undertake feasibility studies and surveys
  • Preparing load calculations and applying for utility connections
  • Production of detailed mechanical services design
  • Undertaking sub-contractor design drawing and technical submission reviews
  • Undertaking site quality and legislative inspections and prepare associated reports
  • Coordinating design with colleagues from other disciplines
  • Referring to industry design guides, British Standards and Building Regulations

Preferred skills, experience & qualifications:

  • Degree or HNC/D in relevant subject or equivalent
  • Experience of a similar role
  • Proficient with relevant industry design software
  • Good time management, organised with a flexible attitude
  • Be a team player, but able to operate at an individual level
  • Have a full UK driving license
  • Full time employment (40hours per week)
