Job Description

We are hiringMechanical Design Engineersto join our growing team in Banbridge.The post holders will be responsible for working within multi-disciplined Engineering teams to deliver innovative design solutions for new concepts & customisation of existing products for our customers across the globe, ensuring delivery to cost, time, quality & adherence to strict aerospace regulations and suitability for manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Preparingall necessary documents, such as specifications, mechanical drawings, and reports related to aircraft seating.
  • Working under the direction of the Lead with outside vendors, internal departments and other engineering disciplines for compliant, airworthy products.
  • Working on drawing deviations through CAD, considering the implications of issues such as cost, safety and time constraints.
  • Supporting change management through research, concepts, design reviews, trade studies, impact analysis and implementation.
  • Working with internal stakeholders to assist with production investigating, troubleshooting, and resolution of build and test issues.
  • Supporting statement of work and bids for new customer requests.
  • Providingextensive coordination with suppliers and internal support groups.
  • Working in project teams designing new products, ensuring they will meet reliability and airworthiness standards to perform consistently in specified operating environments.
  • Providinginput to root cause analysis and proposed solutions.

Requirements

Essential

  • Hold a relevant Engineering degree/ OR relevant Apprenticeship (or equivalent).
  • A minimum of 2 years working in a design engineering environment.
  • Proficient with MS Office (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access).
  • High level of technical and practical knowledge in mechanical design principles.
  • Previous experience in providing input to technical solutions on a wide range of problems including associated manufacturing principles.
  • Demonstrable working knowledge of regulated environments, including knowledge of ISO 9001 or equivalent.
  • Experience in the use of 3D design software, such as AutoCAD, CATIA, Solid Works etc to generate 3D models and 2D drawings.
  • Previous experience of working end to end on a mechanical design project.
  • Previous experience applying practical solutions with considerations of weight, cost, schedule and compliance requirements.

Desirable

  • Experience of PLM systems.
