Mechanical Engineer Roles - Jan 2024 Start - Permanent with great salary and benefits


Role and Responsibilities

You will:

  • Participate in the development, review and delivery of turn-key projects, engineering specifications and deliverables.
  • Participate in specification, evaluation and selection of vendor packages and plant equipment.
  • Be responsible for the design of mechanical works.
  • Support existing Operation and Commissioning teams, remotely and on-site.
  • Give support to commissioning and operations team remotely and on-site.
  • Factory, site and performance acceptance testing participation.
  • Ensure design files are kept up to date for both new and existing operational facilities.


Person Specification:

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) or equivalent qualification.
  • Incorporated (desirable) with a professional engineering institution.
  • Experience in specifying pipework, pressure vessels, mechanical items, valves, plant equipment and materials of construction.
  • Strong understanding of process requirements, ability to interpret P&ID’s.
  • Working knowledge of ASME, ASTM, ISO, MSS and EU standards relating to process pipework. (PED 2014/68/EU, ASME/ANSI B16 series, ASME/ANSI B31.3 as a minimum).
  • Experience using AutoCAD 2D or equivalent
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Flexible and open-minded to new approaches and solutions.
  • The role would suit a candidate with at least five (5) years relevant working experience within an engineering design field. Some experience on site would be desirable.
  • Enthusiasm and aptitude to be part of a growing team.
  • The ability to progress with several different tasks simultaneously, self-manage and deliver to schedule.
  • Excellent maths and IT skills.
  • An effective communicator with an excellent standard of oral and written English.
  • Sense of adventure, drive and a self-motivator.
  • Background and/or interest in alternative environmental technologies.
  • Travel to new and existing sites as required.
