Media Relations Manager: circa £70,000 for London

All potential candidates should read through the following details of this job with care before making an application.

Aviva Investors are delighted to announce that they are looking for a Media Relations Manager - who will handle the external communications process for our asset management brand. We need a professional who is used to navigating the PR / media landscape within Financial Services, preferably asset management, – so if you have exposure to this industry, we’d love you to apply!

A bit about the job:

You will proactively work with both internal and external stakeholders to promote Aviva Investors’ corporate profile, products, and services - alongside managing any reputation risk and ensuring all communication supports our business objectives. You will do this via delivering high-quality, proactive PR campaigns, writing suitable press releases, and organising industry relevant events. You will also develop and maintain strong and positive relationships with key journalists, PR agencies and suppliers, setting up briefings as appropriate, as well as build strong relationships with key internal stakeholders to gain a vision of their strategy and business drivers.

Aviva introduced “smart-working” in 2020 and encourage flexible working; however, the successful post-holder will need to be based a commutable distance from our London offices.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

Prior experience undertaking a Media Relations role within the Financial Services sector is a MUST (Asset, Investment, or Wealth Management experience would be ideal) – this can be either from an in-house or agency background

A track-record of developing and implementing external communications plans successfully is also key!

Ability to showcase a wide network of contacts across the investment press (UK and internationally) matched with excellent collaboration and influencing skills, working with both internal and external stakeholders

Strong communication, project management and organisational skills.

Comfortable working with multiple competing (and frequently changing) priorities

What you’ll get for this role:

Annual salary of circa £70,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications).

Aviva will contribute up to 14% to your personal pension (dependent on your contribution)

Eligibility for annual performance bonus

Family friendly parental and carer’s leave

29 days holiday per year plus bank holidays and the option to buy/sell up to 5 additional days.

Up to 40% discount for Aviva products.

Brilliant flexible benefits including electric cars.

Aviva Matching Share Plan and Save As You Earn scheme.

21 volunteering hours per year.
