We have an exciting opportunity to join Norgine. The person holding this position will report to the VP of Medical Affairs and be a member of the medical affairs team.

The core responsibility of the Medical Information and Communications Director is the management of the outsourced Medical Information call centre, to ensure compliance with regulatory policies and procedures. To be responsible for maintaining and delivering quality written responses to global medical information inquiries and ensuring medical accuracy for global promotional and medical materials, working in collaboration with the Medical Director. To take accountability for setting the Medical Communication’s team strategy, operational goals and priorities, budget management and people management ensuring the enablement of the Medical Communication capabilities for the organization in alignment with the overall Medical Affairs Strategy and roadmap.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Provide leadership and strategic direction to the Medical Communications and Medical Information teams, ensuring alignment with the overall Medical Affairs strategy.
  • To manage the relationship between Norgine and the outsourced Medical Information vendor.
  • To ensure appropriate oversight of the outsourced medical information vendor, including quality assurance programme, training of vendor staff, and the implementation of processes to ensure that the vendor service meets expected standards.
  • To ensure that the outsourced medical information vendor is working in a customer-focused manner to provide timely, accurate, and balanced information in response to requests for information about Norgine products.
  • Ensure provision of timely medical information responses to questions covering Norgine Pharmaceuticals marketed products from patients, health care professionals, and internal employees.
  • Leads a team of Scientific Advisers to independently create and update Standard Responses (SRs) and update existing SRs based on an understanding of in-house data and the medical literature.
  • Ensures the development of standard processes related to Medical Information services. Performs critical analysis and synthesis of internal/external literature.
  • Develop strategy and build processes, systems, and structure to support the delivery of Medical/Scientific Information and Medical Communication services to all customers including healthcare professionals, academics, consumers, and company personnel relating to products either in development or on the market.
  • Lead the medical information and medical communications team and play an integral role in strategy development, planning and execution of high-quality scientific and medical communications.
  • Manage a staff that delivers medical information and medical communications services for the organization.
  • Actively contribute to the strategic direction of the Medical Information and Medical Communications team

  • Actively engage and participate in cross-functional meetings, while building and maintaining strong working relationships with key partners and stakeholders across multiple sectors and functional areas.
  • Develop the competencies of direct reports by driving high performance, innovative mindsets and team. engagement while promoting a compliant culture.
  • Ensure the highest standards of quality and compliance.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders for quality oversight ensuring adherence to policies and standards. As required author policies related to medical information and communications processes and operations.
  • Provide support during internal & external audits as a subject matter expert for Med Info and Communications departmental processes and procedures.
  • Advanced degree in health sciences: M.D., Ph.D, or Pharm.D., MBA or equivalent business skills with a solid experience in the pharmaceutical industry within medical information or related functions is required.
  • Leadership and strategic thinking skills is required.
  • Strong communication skills is required
  • Demonstrated skills in leadership, strategic thinking, people development, analysis, and innovation is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including presentation skills to effectively communicate scientific/medical information to healthcare professionals, consumers, and internal business partners.
  • Strong interdependent partnering ability including negotiating/influencing skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, dynamic, and professional environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Medical Information customer communications center processes within the pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
  • Exhibits customer focus with a sound understanding of customer management solutions and the healthcare landscape.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
