Position: Medical Science Liaison - Scotland & Ireland - Dermatology

Location: Scotland/Ireland (Remote)

My client is seeking an innovative and adaptable Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to join the dermatology team, responsible for Scotland and Ireland.


About the Position

As a Medical Science Liaison, you will utilize your strong functional expertise to assist in the practical execution of essential company medical strategies. Your role will involve showcasing scientific leadership by actively participating in scientific conferences, medical meetings, and advisory boards. You will be recognized as a reliable scientific authority in dermatology and company products.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Create and deliver medical and scientific presentations, leveraging your scientific knowledge to collect medical insights and support research and data-gathering initiatives.
  2. Enhance site performance and provide support for clinical trials and non-interventional studies by engaging with investigators when necessary.
  3. Contribute to guideline development and revision through scientific exchanges and support.
  4. Actively engage in team calls and meetings, translating customer insights into actionable strategies to deliver exceptional and sustainable customer value and impact.
  5. Share scientific updates with peers and ensure the completion of administrative and planning tasks in line with guidelines.
  6. Collect and share critical insights that can inform business strategies and product development, ultimately improving patient care, access, and outcomes within the company's strategic roadmap.
  7. Consistently adhere to company policies, procedures, and the ABPI Code of Practice through appropriate communications and interactions with both internal colleagues and external customers.

Collaboration

You will collaborate and network with a diverse range of stakeholders, actively working with internal partners regionally and sharing insights and best practices with the team. You will also interact with field-level colleagues from sales and market access and be responsible for developing and managing Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), including KOL identification, engagement, and support.


Requirements

To excel in this role, you should possess the following:



  1. A strong scientific education at the MSc/PhD level is highly desirable.
  2. Prior experience as an MSL in the pharmaceutical industry.
  3. Disease area knowledge, with a preference for expertise in dermatology/psoriasis.
  4. The ability to effectively communicate complex scientific and clinical data in both one-on-one and group settings.
  5. A strong grasp of business principles and an in-depth understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and healthcare arena.
  6. Proficiency in communication and presentation, with a focus on delivering value and impact to customers, always with a patient-centered approach.
