We are seeking a dynamic and experienced 2nd Charge Mortgage professional to join our client as an Operational Support Manager. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring that operations adhere to all relevant regulations making sure mortgage cases are processed smoothly and professionally. This role would see you in a seniority capacity within the business assisting and guiding advisors and case managers throughout the whole mortgage process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day operational activities within the 2nd charge mortgage brokerage team.
  • Assist in managing the processing of mortgage applications, ensuring accuracy and efficiency throughout the process.
  • Coordinate with lenders, solicitors, and other relevant parties to facilitate the timely completion of transactions.
  • Develop and implement streamlined workflows and procedures to optimise operational efficiency.
  • Act as a reference point to a team of Advisors and Case Managers, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders, including sales, compliance, and finance teams, to ensure seamless coordination and alignment of efforts.
  • Stay updated on industry regulations, trends, and best practices to ensure compliance and uphold industry standards.
  • Address any operational challenges or issues promptly and effectively to maintain smooth business operations.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on operational performance and initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a 2nd Charge Mortgage Broker/ Packager
  • Fully CeMAP qualified or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a similar operational support role or within a Senior capacity is preferable.
  • Strong understanding of mortgage products, regulations, and compliance requirements specific to the UK market.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing day-to-day operational activities, including processing mortgage applications, coordinating with lenders, and overseeing transactional processes.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing streamlined workflows and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and productivity.
  • Experience in supervising and leading a team of support staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and adherence to company standards.
  • Proficiency in monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and utilizing data analysis to assess operational performance, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of relevant software applications and systems used in mortgage processing and operational management.
  • Familiarity with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices, with a commitment to staying updated and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.

Salary is negotiable depending on relevant experience. This will consist of a basic salary plus target-related bonuses. Full package circa £50,000 - £55,000.
