Overview

Everest People Solutions are recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Engineer for an Innovative pet food business based in Haverhill. This crucial role involves providing an excellent service across the Manufacturing Kitchen, ensuring the ongoing production of cherished pet-friendly meals.

Reporting directly to the engineering supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for the effective maintenance of all production and site services equipment. The role demands a sharp focus on fault finding and problem-solving across a diverse range of equipment and situations.


Key Duties & Responsibilities for the Multi-Skilled Engineer

  • Maintain site electrical and mechanical equipment to legislative, safety, and business standards.
  • Address plant breakdowns and ancillary equipment issues reactively, minimizing production downtime through diagnostics and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Proactively conduct machine maintenance following the Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) schedule.
  • Identify improvement areas and collaborate with the site team for implementation.
  • Occasional installation tasks, but the primary focus is on sustaining machinery uptime.
  • Execute planned maintenance tasks safely, cost-effectively, and within agreed standards and timelines, without compromising food safety or health & safety requirements.


Requirements for the Multi-Skilled Engineer

Essential:

  • Over 5 years of experience in Engineering or Technician roles, preferably in production, manufacturing, or FMCG settings.
  • Proficient in electromechanical fault-finding.
  • Enthusiastic about challenges and eager to contribute to building from the ground up.
  • Thrives in the fast-paced and dynamic environment of DTC food manufacturing.
  • Approachable with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates respect for all staff members, regardless of their roles.
  • Double day shifts from 6am-2pm or 2pm-10pm, with some flexibility required.


Desirable:

  • Experience in leading teams.
  • Qualification in electrical/mechanical engineering.
  • Strong electrical skills, preferably certified to the 18th Edition Electrical Regulations.
  • Familiarity with Food Safety, Food Hygiene, and HACCP standards.
  • Knowledge of Multivac lines is a plus, but training will be provided if necessary.
