Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer Merthyr Tydfil £38,500 (+10% shift allowance for night shift hours worked which will be 1 week in 5) Permanent

Our client has been baking quality confectionary products for over 75 years. They are now on the look out for x2 Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineers to join their team based in South Wales. This role will be on a 3-shift pattern consisting of earlier, days and nights.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to the planned preventative maintenance within the department, ensuring that all machinery and ancillary services are covered, report back any failing in this plan to the Engineering Manager or Section manager.
  2. Troubleshoot process, material, or equipment problems to minimize down time and recommend solutions to the Engineering Manager or Section Manager.
  3. Assemble, procure or modify existing and new tooling, fixtures, and equipment to ensure efficient production methods.
  4. Hands-on training of setter operators and process operators on new products, equipment and process revisions.
  5. Complete, and document routine maintenance on applicable manufacturing and test equipment.
  6. Use schematics, assembly drawings, data sheets, and process sheets to perform testing, build fixtures, checkout and troubleshoot equipment.
  7. Assist in failure analysis, troubleshooting, rework/repair of non-conforming manufactured product to determine root cause.
  8. Conduct tests, gather data, and write results/reports with assistance from Engineering Manager, utilizing various types of electro-mechanical equipment.

Qualifications & Experience:

Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer trained in Mechanical & Electrical. Ideally having previous worked with wrapping machines/products in Plc programming (basic understanding level accepted), track record in Machining/Turning – bearings, shafts, pumps, gearboxes – Pneumatics, Electrical fault finding and 3 phase equipment experience.
