Annabel, 21, needs an additional Personal Assistant/Support Worker to join her dedicated team in Crouch End, London N8 to enable her to live an independent life. Annabel has cerebral palsy. £18.00 gross per hour (£16 gross per hour if non-driver) and £100.00 gross per overnight sleeping shift.Location: N8, Crouch EndNearest Tube/Station: Finsbury Park, a short bus ride from the tube stationWage/Salary: £18.00 gross per hour and £100 gross, per overnight sleeping Shift. (£16 gross per hour if non-driver) Driver Essential? Preferred, including driving an adapted vehicle when on duty. I live in my own flat with my team of dedicated PAs. I love meeting up with friends, and going on days out and trips away, like music festivals or holidays abroad. I really enjoy hand and machine sewing and cooking and I also like using software packages for card making. I enjoy going to art clubs, swimming, and horse riding. I have cerebral palsy and I do not have natural speech. I use a high-tech voice output communication aid and I use a wheelchair when I am out and about; my car is adapted to take my powerchair. I require assistance to access all areas of my life through support with communication, personal care, leisure activities, college work, volunteering, and social engagements. Overview of role:I am looking for an additional PA to support me in my own home to enable me to live as independently as possible. My *female PA will help me manage household tasks, and accompany me on social activities, and appointments. There will also be opportunities for additional shift work across the week and to go on trips away with me. Start time on a Friday can be between 4.30 pm to 6.30 pm, through till Sunday, 6.30 pm. It is £18.00 gross per hour (£16 gross per hour if non-driver) and £100.00 gross per overnight Sleeping Shift. For overnight shifts, there is an allocated bedroom for PAs. I don’t require any physical overnight support; I just need my PA in the house in case of an emergency. I will however require support with personal care, getting ready in the morning and ready for bed in the evening. Who this job would suit: Continuity is vital, so please consider carefully before applying - I appreciate this is a part-time role but I really need to know that you will endeavour to stay on my team on a relatively long-term basis. I want my PA to have a real ‘get up and go’ attitude when it comes to arranging and joining in social activities including, for example, dancing at parties, music festivals, and gigs. This attitude is far more important than experience, though I will of course take that into account.
