Job Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable and highly experienced Principal Consultant to provide expert advice and technical solutions to our clients in the maritime industry. The successful candidates will have a strong background and extensive experience, able to provide consultancy services in any of the following disciplines in Submarine engineering:
- Marine engineering
- Safety Engineering and Safety Management
- Systems Engineering
- Supportability
- Nuclear Engineering
- Naval Architecture
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic guidance, thought-leadership, and expert advice.
- Shape our technical services, lead Naval Solutions’ technical disciplines.
- Undertake feasibility studies, cost-benefit analysis, risk analysis, and assessment.
- Provide Technical Support and Assurance to clients.
- Review and evaluate design proposals, specifications, and technical reports.
- Author technical documents, reports, manuals, and procedures.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in Submarine design.
Essential Requirements
- Strong Leadership skills and experience.
- Self-starting personality.
- Strong Technical background.
- Excellent Teamwork skills.
- Candidates must be able to satisfy SC clearance criteria for UK National Security Vetting.
- 5 years of experience in the Submarine industry, with a proven track record of successful projects.
Desirable Qualifications
- Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline related field.
- Engineering Fellow or working towards becoming an Engineering Fellow.
- Although not essential, this role would particularly suit a Royal Navy/ Merchant Navy/ ex-MoD personnel.
- 10 years of experience in the Submarine industry, with a proven track record of successful projects.
- In-depth knowledge of either vessel design, construction, or operation.
- Understanding relevant regulations and standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to supervise multiple projects.
- Willingness to travel to client sites as needed.
