Job Description

Ty Hafan is a beautiful childrens hospice, located on the picturesque Vale of Glamorgan coastline. Covering the South, East, and West of Wales Ty Hafan offers a beautiful, newly refurbished working environment set in idyllic grounds a short distance from the metropolitan area of Cardiff.
We are pleased to announce a rare opportunity at Ty Hafan, for an experienced paediatric nurse to join our care team as a Neonatal Palliative Care Clinical Nurse Specialist. We are looking for a dedicated nurse with passion and enthusiasm, who is able to lead others in providing holistic family centred care to very special and inspiring families.
As an integral part of Ty Hafan care services, you will work closely with each of the Neonatal Intensive Care Units in South, East & West Wales and the Specialist Paediatric Palliative Care team. You will drive the delivery and development of high quality antenatal and neonatal palliative care, including hospice care where appropriate.

At Ty Hafan our team is very supportive and inclusive, we value individual differences, and understand experience can come from many avenues, therefore it is not essential to have previous experience working in a palliative care environment. Palliative care is defined as the total care of individuals from diagnosis of a life-shortening condition, beyond transition into adult services, or in providing extensive bereavement support. It is important to remember that paediatric palliative care is so much more than just end of life care, Ty Hafan holds enhancing quality of life at its very core.
As a Neonatal Palliative Care Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will provide information, support, advice and specialist knowledge to families and neonatal staff regarding available hospice and palliative care services, ensuring the families of babies with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions are offered the antenatal and neonatal support they require in order to make informed decisions regarding their child's care. You will act as a resource to the multi-professional team to influence palliative care, symptom management, and end-of-life care development across neonatal care provision in South, East & West Wales. Our skilled team provide specialist care for a range of families therefore at Ty Hafan, your work will be extremely varied, and deeply fulfilling.
