Be a generalist network expert with responsibility for the design and implementation of both Corporate and Trading networks at this boutique, global Hedge Fund.
It’s a smaller environment, so you’ll see the impact of your work quickly and feedback loops will be shorter. Limited red tape and a desire to implement things quickly are commonplace here. You’ll be given immediate autonomy and freedom to suggest improvements where you see they’re needed.
You’ll begin in a generalist role, which of course won’t be right for everyone, but for you, it will mean you can work across various projects within the networking space. Some projects will be more focused on the internal office network, others will focus on optimising the networks required for high speed trading, plus much more.
You’ll need to come from a background of designing and managing networks, ideally in a latency-sensitive environment.
The fund have completely rebuilt their infrastructure from the ground up over the past couple of years, favouring an IaC mode. You'll work alongside 3 other Network Engineers and will collaborate closely with the Platform Engineering team - this fund hire some of the brightest minds from within Trading & Technology.

This is a Senior, hands-on role - as expected from a top-performing fund, they pay well. At the top end, you could achieve £140k basic salary + discretionary bonus.
It’s a hybrid working environment with 4x days per week on-site required. There is no shift work, but you will be required to work on-call 1 week in 4.
