Uplift uses research, campaigning, and advocacy to support a just transition away from fossil fuels in the UK on atimeline that is commensurate with a safe climate. We are looking for a Network Coordinator to help driveforward our network building and public campaigning activities across Scotland, and the UK. This is an excitingopportunity to join Uplift at a critical time ahead of a general election and help strengthen the movement awayfrom oil and gas in the UK and towards a just transition for workers and communities.
1. The Role
As a Network Coordinator, you will help bring together groups, organisations and other stakeholders to drive forwardcampaigns to end north sea oil and gas extraction and secure a just transition for workers and communities. Youwill play a key role in strengthening the movement, through helping to convene highly impactful campaigningcoalitions and networks, seeding and supporting campaign interventions and offering expert support &advice.
If you’re passionate about climate justice, especially holding the UK government to account and have a coalition andmovement mindset - valuing the importance of movement coordination and generosity, then this role could beperfect for you. You will need a strong understanding of the movement ecology in the UK, especially in Scotland,and understand the unique role different actors play in bringing about change.
Based in Scotland and with a good understanding of the Scottish movement ecology, you will be able to map and bringtogether groups, organisations, stakeholder and constituents to campaign on fossil fuels. You will strengthenpartnerships and scope new allies whilst helping to drive forward campaigning interventions and mobilisinggroups around key moments throughout 2024 and beyond. You will work closely with key campaigning organisationsin Scotland and internally with Uplifts Campaigns and Movement Building team to support network buildingactivities across the UK.

This role will primarily sit within our Capacity Building and Standards (CB&S) function but will work closelywith our Innovation and Practice (I&P) and Advocacy and Communications (A&C) functions.
The CB&S function aims to build capacity both inside and outside of public institutions to embed the processes,skills, structures and cultures needed for effective public participation in decision-making. The I&Pfunction is responsible for the deliberative, dialogic and participatory projects and processes that we run. TheA&C function aims to build political and public understanding of and support for making participation anddeliberation an everyday, integral part of our democracy.
This role will have a thematic focus on public engagement in decision-making within the science, technology and datasectors. Candidates do not need an educational or work background in this sector, although it would be useful,but we would expect the successful candidate to take a keen interest in these topics.
Involve achieves its impacts by growing expertise in sector-specific areas where public engagement is important.Science and tech represent policy areas where citizen engagement on both principles and practice is vital andwhere public engagement can also open the door to broader deliberative democratic interventions and feedbackloops.
Technological advancement, including AI, presents risks and opportunities and will be an ongoing priority forgovernment with five critical technologies likely to be central to UK policy for at least the next Government .
Involve has a significant pedigree and is well networked in the area of public engagement in science. The Role:
As the Media and Publications Manager you will provide strategic leadership on corporate communications and mediarelations for the Park Authority. You will help position the organisation – and the wider Cairngorms NationalPark – as a leader in tackling the nature and climate crisis, as well as a champion for local communities andfor a range of key stakeholders.
You will work closely with senior management, the board and with senior Communications colleagues, you will developand implement key messages that resonate with our target audiences, underpinned by the five-year National ParkPartnership Plan. You will foster positive working relationships with members of the media (local, national andinternational), and will seek to proactively share the National Park’s story with audiences both here in theCairngorms and further afield.
The Media and Publications Manager reports to the Head of Communications and Engagement, you will lead the ParkAuthority’s press office function and will line manage staff members looking after corporate publications /interpretation, and nature / land management comms. You will ensure a consistency of approach in all areas and aseamless connection with the Park Authority’s digital outputs, working closely with the Digital CommunicationsManager.

Fife Communities Action Network (FCCAN) is a network of community groups in Fife that are taking action on climatechange. Our aim is to empower and enable communities to create a low carbon future and promote local resilienceand well-being.
We have three exciting opportunities to join our Fife Climate Hub team, funded by the Scottish Government.
The Fife Climate Hub is part of a new network of regional community climate action hubs, created by the ScottishGovernment. The Hub empowers community-led action on the climate crisis. Our vision is for a growing Fife-widenetwork of groups taking climate action to meet the needs of their communities. We build capacity of existingcommunity groups working on climate, encourage collaboration and reach beyond the climate engaged to grow adiverse network across Fife. We also provide a voice for our members to influence local and national policy.Together we are driving change and strengthening climate resilience in Fife.
The Hub offers training, advice, inspiration, networking, funding and signposting to places of support. We provideopportunities for networking and shared learning to create a strong climate movement across Fife and drivechange across all sectors.
We’re looking for passionate, enthusiastic people to further develop the project. This is an exciting opportunity toshape community climate action within Scotland through a model of localised ‘grassroots’ collaborativesupport.
The Community Development Officer (Funding) will support existing community groups to access funding to deliver theirclimate projects. The post holder will signpost groups to relevant funding opportunities, support them throughthe application process and act as a liaison between community groups, local authority and funders. They willalso administer Fife Climate Hub’s Community Climate Grants scheme.
The role of ECCAN’s Members Support and Events Lead is dynamic and multifaceted, serving as an important bridgebetween the members and the organisation. Operating within Edinburgh's four localities, this person willfrequently travel and be the primary point of contact for the network’s members, offering project developmentsupport and enabling groups to take forward their ideas.
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about community engagement to support thedevelopment of community climate action plans, climate resilience plans, or local place planning for groups,organisations, and neighbourhoods in Edinburgh.
You will be a hands-on, adaptable and approachable coordinator who can diligently curate and distribute resources,ensuring their relevance and accessibility for ECCAN’s membership while also designing and administeringfeedback mechanisms to sustain member participation.
This will include planning and delivering in ECCAN’s in person and virtual events of different scales throughout theyear and building capacity of member organisations to deliver compelling climate and social justice activitiesof their own.
This will involve conducting outreach talks and workshops for groups, managing and collaborating effectively withvolunteers, liaising with speakers and trainers, and delivering sessions on carbon literacy and other pertinenttopics across Edinburgh's localities.
Hours of Work: 28 hours a week flexible with some evening / weekend work (for which time off in lieu is provided).Potential for job share or compressed hours.
Additional Requirements: The post holder will be subject to a Disclosure Scotland check.
Location: You will be based in member premises in the heart of the city, working closely with other agencies andcolleagues across Edinburgh. Flexible hot desking is possible in various community locations as well as homeworking.
