Job Description

Overview
Our client, a leading Transportation company in the UK, is looking to appoint a Network Manager as part of their successful and growing team. The Network Manager will provide governance across the company network, as well as the network team.
Key Responsibilities:
Working alongside the Infrastructure Operations Manager, design and implement strategic plans to ensure business and customer network capacity meets existing and future needs.
Ensure all network hardware and equipment is optimised and running effectively.
Ensure network best practices, policies, and procedures are developed and implemented, across installations, configurations, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Manage network assets and maintain network component inventory.
Proactively support the development and implementation of new technology installations.
Support vendor negotiations and contractors to secure network products and services.
Be hands-on in the installation, configuration, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network hardware, software, and peripherals.
Support the development of business continuity and disaster recovery plans, in order to respond efficiently to emergencies.
Working alongside the IT Services Manager, develop and monitor network KPIs and performance metrics.
Manage the network team and mentor junior members when required.
Key Requirements:
Experience managing and configuring enterprise-wide LANs, WANs, WLANs, VPNs, etc.
Excellent Network monitoring experience including PRTG, SolarWinds and SNOW.
7+ years experience with Firewall and Switch Management.
Extensive experience with Cisco networking and Meraki SDWAN (essential), HP switches and firewalls.
Experience of Checkpoint firewalls.
Hands on experience troubleshooting network hardware.
Excellent knowledge of current protocols and standards.
Experience implementing SD-WAN solutions with Meraki.
Knowledge of data protection practices and laws.
Cisco & Microsoft Certified (Desirable).
