Job Description

Job Title: Core Network Planner Location: UK/EU/US (flexible) GTT provides secure global connectivity, improving network performance and agility for your people, places, applications, and clouds. We operate a global Tier 1 internet network and provide a comprehensive suite of cloud networking and managed solutions that utilize advanced software-defined networking and security technologies. We serve thousands of businesses with a portfolio that includes SD-WAN and other WAN services, internet, security, and voice services. Prepare and execute campaigns to optimize the cost and capacity of GTT’s core network comprised of leased wavelengths and dark fiber (aka dark fibre) services. The Core Network Planner will work cooperatively with other company departments as required, including Engineering, Carrier Relations, Operations, Finance, Business Analysis, Data Integrity. Organize and evaluate related datasets from a variety of internal and external sources (order inventory, billing, monitoring, GIS) to formulate leasing plans and strategies. Collaborate closely with Engineering to meet the goals (capacity, diversity, latency, delivery interval, etc.) results to Engineering for evaluation. 5+ years’ experience in telecommunications overseeing cost and capacity in a supplier or vendor management role. ~ Strong organizational and Project Management skills (concepts, ability to multitask), ability to work in a fast-paced environment. ~ Has strong analytical, negotiation, and inter-personal skills along with the ability to work cross-functionally across various geographic regions ultimately to identify, build, and manage ongoing relationships with telecommunications carriers. ~ Strong Microsoft Excel, pivot tables, report generation. Business Performance Management: Knowledge of technologies, techniques, and practices for the use of business intelligence; Planning: Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan. Coaching Others: Knowledge of coaching and mentoring concepts and methods; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation. Knowledge of transformation initiatives to drive fundamental changes, enhance responsiveness and efficiency to core business practices.
