Senior Network Security Engineers


Permanent: £50,000 - £65,000 + 10% Bonus + c. £9.5k shift allowance + more benefits
Location: Hybrid - Office in Sheffield City Centre - DuPont Shift Pattern

Due to continued organisational growth, I'm back on the lookout for some talented Network Security Engineers to work in a managed service environment in Sheffield.
This is a fantastic opportunity to progress your network security career with one of the UK's leading telecommunications organisations.
Your new role will involve
  1. Joining the existing Network Security team In tandem with the SOC
  2. Looking for exposure to vulnerabilities
  3. Setting up, maintaining, patching, and upgrading customers' firewalls (typical vendors: Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Checkpoint)
  4. Actively working on client firewalls
  5. Completing firewall upgrades
  6. Running IPS and IDS
  7. Performing log reviews
  8. General BAU e.g., VPN creation
  9. Facing a variety of clients and helping set up, maintain, monitor, and secure their networks
  10. Dealing appropriately with major incidents
  11. Making sure appropriate steps are in place and followed for the remediation of vulnerabilities
  12. Performing safe upgrades and patches where required
  13. Providing accurate and informed security insights internally and with the organisation's customers
  14. Making sure levels of incident response are appropriate

What you'll need to succeed
  • A good background in Network Security within a large-scale complex organisation
  • Experience setting up, maintaining, and upgrading firewalls
  • In-depth experience of any of the following: Fortinet, Cisco ASA/Firepower, Checkpoint, or Palo Alto is crucial
  • Experience within a large-scale, complex organisation is necessary - managed service/consultancy/B2B prior experience would be highly beneficial too
  • Recent experience dealing with major incidents with networks and firewalls
  • Top end salaries for this role will require some industry certifications (e.g. Fortinet NSE 4/NSE 5/NSE 6/NSE 7, Checkpoint CCSA/CCSE, Palo Alto PCNSA/PCNSE, Cisco CCNA/CCNP) and in-depth experience of the above.
  • Eligibility to get SC clearance
