Night Hygiene Team Leader Position Overview Based at our site in Simonswood, on the border of Merseyside and Lancashire, Puratos are seeking a Night Hygiene Team Leader to join our site team. The role is full time working Monday to Friday, 21:00-06:00, with some flexibility required on occasion in line with business needs. The role is commutable from the Liverpool/Skelmersdale/St Helens/Wigan/Southport areas. Who we are Puratos is a food manufacturer supplying products to the bakery, patisserie and chocolate sectors. Responsibilities The Night Hygiene Team Leader is a new role required for the ongoing development of the Puratos site in Simonswood. The Team Leader will be responsible for the effective, safe and controlled running of the hygiene function and reports to the Factory Manager. In addition to completing hygiene operative duties, the Hygiene Team Leader will be responsible for the following: Supervision and first line management of the hygiene team (2 operatives) Ensuring that cleaning schedules and cleaning procedures are completed according to timescales, SOPs and safety controls. Reporting, investigating and resolving any non-conformances, issues or queries in a timely and effective manner. Briefing and training team members to the required standards. Escalating issues to the management team as appropriate and playing an active role in the resolution of any problems. Provide a thorough handover to Production at the end of the shift. Representing Puratos as the most senior person on the night shift – to include any liaison with internal and external parties. Profile The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience: Prior experience (3 years+) of hygiene control and compliance within food manufacturing or another relevant production environment/industry Have Food Safety and HACCP qualifications at Level 2 or above Have IOSH or equivalent H&S qualification Have a qualification in Team Leader/Management at Level 3 or above Be a confident user of computers and new technology Have good written & verbal communication skills Be a proven team player, able to work collaboratively at all levels and build partnerships with cross-functional teams.
