Are you drawn to the exhilaration of out of hours work, with long spells of downtime between shifts, but put off by the thought of working 7 in a row? Consider joining our large, progressive hospital practice on a 4 night (Thurs- Sun)/10 off rota, or 5 nights (Wed- Sun)/10 off rota.
This position might suit a vet with a passion for travel, or someone with children who wants to return to an exciting and fulfilling career with a minimum of disruption and childcare. Alternatively, this position could provide a steady and well-paid income stream in between locum stints.
We are a large, well-equipped hospital, with a strong, multiskilled team of vets and an excellent support team. We have amongst our team some keen surgeons and medics and a busy caseload in all areas. Shifts are 13 hours. The night vet hands over with the hospital day vet at 6.30pm and 7am. Responsibilities include the further work up and care of the inpatients overnight, and for seeing other urgent and emergency cases. Night vets are supported by at least two of the nursing team all night. There is sleeping accommodation on site.
About Us
The practice has a spacious, well-equipped hospital and four satellite branches. There is a large and varied case load of both medical and surgical cases, and our vets have clinical freedom. The hospital has recently been extended and is well equipped with top class imaging (digital x-ray, CT scanner, ultrasound, video endoscope including laparoscopic kit), a wide range of surgical equipment, four sterile theatres, dental x-ray, ECG, tonopen and slit lamp, Class 4 laser, extensive lab including EPOC, spacious dog and cat kennels and a large isolation area. There are seven consulting rooms. We are proud of our team, and we aim to support them with generous renumeration and support. Postgraduate studies are encouraged and supported.
South Lincs Vet Group is located near Boston, with excellent road links in all directions, and rail links to London and nationwide via Peterborough. The beautiful Lincolnshire Wolds and the Norfolk coast are within easy day trip distance. The skies are huge, the people are friendly, and costs of living are very affordable.
About the Team and Culture

We have vets who have completed or are studying towards further qualifications in surgery, internal medicine, dermatology, ECC, and ophthalmology. The vets are well supported by an experienced and conscientious team of RVN, SVNs and ANAs, and excellent support staff. We're a friendly crew and never fail to help newcomers feel at ease.
