Job Description

West Midlands Ambulance Service University NHS Foundation Trust (WMAS) is seeking a candidate with substantial senior / Board level or equivalent expertise in a large and complex organisation, to join our Board of Directors.

The Trust is currently looking to appoint an exceptional individual to provide leadership, independent and objective challenge, and bring diversity to our Board of Directors. We are seeking an individual with relevant corporate financial experience ideally at Board level within large and complex organisations.

The Trust has a budget of circa. £400 million per annum and employs over 7,000 staff and operates from 15 hubs across the region. The Trust provides emergency and urgent services across to a population of 5.6 million people covering Shropshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, Coventry, Birmingham, and the Black Country. Whilst facing unprecedented challenges the Trust is committed to ensuring that patients receive quality care in the most appropriate settings.

The successful candidate will demonstrate commitment to and personal interest in enhancing health and care services and will have the highest standards of personal integrity. They will also be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of and alignment to our core values, and they will need to be a strategic thinker with experience of operating in a rapidly changing environment. All directors are subject to the "fit & proper" persons obligations.

Candidates must be resident within the operating area of West Midlands Ambulance Service.
