About the role

What are we looking for?

This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic NQ Solicitor with some Commercial Property experience to join our dynamic and highly recommended by Legal 500 & Chambers team. The team deals with all aspects of Commercial Property work. The chosen candidate will experience a wide ranging and diverse workload within a team who are committed to providing excellent service to our clients.

You will be joining a busy team of 7 based in our Guildford office where your main focus will be to assist with the management of a case load of client matters across a broad spectrum of commercial property matters, including Landlord and Tenant work, Secured Lending, Sales purchases and Land Development.

There is huge potential to generate work both within Moore Barlow and externally. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic lawyer to help with the existing caseload but to also develop new client relationships.

You will be drafting documentation for property sales and purchases (including contracts, transfers of part, deeds of easement and covenants, undertaking due diligence on properties, deducing title (whether the land is registered or unregistered) and drafting reports on title.

You will also be assisting with the management of key client relationships within the Commercial Property team so will have an opportunity to get involved in marketing and business development of the team and firm, so there is scope for your own personal career growth within the role.

Key tasks will include:

  • Fulfil personal case load, managing cases from start to finish 
  • Assist with marketing and business development for the department and firm 
  • Report to the Partner in charge of the team
  • Assisting other Team fee earners to fulfil their case loads
  • Assist with the coaching and mentoring of junior members of the team to improve their knowledge and capability

What we look for:

• Qualified Solicitor with experience in/aptitude for Commercial Property work • Pro-activity and initiative• An ability to understand the client’s business and what motivates them as well as their objectives• Enthusiasm • Good communication skills - a good personal manner and an ability to relate to and communicate with clients and staff at all levels• Good drafting skills • Good corporate legal skills• An ability to anticipate the client’s needs and requirements• An ability to react quickly to the client’s requirements• Good technical and organisational skills• Creativity and an ability to find solutions to problems
