Job Description

NES Fircroft are currently recruiting for Instrumentation Technicians for Our client a major Oil & Gas operator to work from their Offshore platforms in the UK North Sea.

The role is a 12month contract working 2/2 rotation of 12 hour shifts.

To be considered for these roles, candidates must have active BOSIET / MIST as well as existing right to work in the UK.

Key responsibilities include:

• Working within a team of multi-skilled techs / ops to safely operate and maintain offshore processing facilities within the operational and maintenance procedures. Maximising the plant availability in the processing of gas received from our offshore fields

• Plan and carry out preventative maintenance tasks to required standards and procedures, minimising impact on production

• Completion of Maximo work orders and ensure generation of new work requests to highlight plant and equipment failure

• Provide assistance for projects, working with vendors and sub-contractors as required

• Management of spares and test gases to enable testing/calibration of gas monitors

• Ensuring Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to and actively promoted at all times

Safety Critical Tasks:

• Shutdown/Blowdown Valves Carry out maintenance on Shutdown/ Blowdown Valves Extinguishant Systems Carry out maintenance on Extinguishant Systems

• Fire & Gas Systems Hardware, Operation and Testing Carry out maintenance on Fire and Gas Detection systems

• Fixed & Portable Analysers Carry out maintenance on Fixed and Portable Flammable and Toxic Gas Detectors

• Level Indicators, Switches and Transmitters Maintenance of the Level Measurement equipment

• Nucleonic Devices Safe use of nucleonic level devices

• Pressure Indicators, Switches and Transmitters Maintenance of the Pressure Measurement equipment

Safety Instrumented Systems - Operation and Testing Maintenance on Shutdown Systems Temperature Elements, Switches and Transmitters Maintenance of the Temperature Measurement equipment

Safety & Environmentally Critical Courses:

• CompEx - Units Ex01-04

• Compression Fittings and Small Bore Tubing (desirable)

• Piping Joint Integrity Training & in date assessment (MJI10 - ECITB Approved)

Qualifications & Experience:

• Active BOSIET / MIST

• At least 5 years’ experience working in the onshore/offshore oil & gas industry with a time served trade apprenticeship

• HNC qualification in a relevant subject

• Compex certified (desirable)
