Support the day-to-day management of the oncology pharmacy team in the aseptic reconstitution of injectable chemotherapy for all cancer patients. Lead in medicine management and ensure safe, high-quality service provision, risk assessment, and SOP development; support the Chief Technician and deputise in his/her absence in the day-to-day running of the pharmacy aseptic unit.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination and support of all oncology pharmacy services. You will provide safe and timely provision of medicines to cancer patients and support contract negotiations for QA, audit, and annual maintenance contracts, calibrations, equipment testing, etc. Cost-effective procurement and stock control of medicines; safe storage of medicines; minimising wastage and effective budgeting of medicines; support materials.

To be a successful candidate you will have:

  • GPhC professional membership. B-Tec Pharmaceutical Science or equivalent
  • Maths and English GcSE grade C or above or equivalent
  • Experience and training within healthcare technical oncology pharmacy services (minimum 5 years). Good customer care, proven IT/numeracy, and good communication skills.
  • Supervisory skills. Independent and resourceful.
  • Proven interest in healthcare, medicine management, and pharmacy technical services
  • Organisational and prioritising skills
  • Experience in a wide range of IT programmes, including electronic prescribing ​​​
