Online Learning Developer

CONTRACT: Permanent, Full Time (35 Hours a week)

ORGANISATION: Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS UK)

LOCATION: Royal Life Saving Society UK Head Office, Worcester

*Potential for hybrid working

DEPARTMENT: Commercial

REPORTS TO: Head of Qualification Development

SALARY: £32,847.00 (Grade C)


ROLE OVERVIEW

The Online Learning Developer will have key responsibility for creating and managing engaging digital content that uses innovative digital learning methods, elevates the learning experience, and enhances our current and future development programmes.


The role requires to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams within the organisation to ensure that training requirements are fulfilled. This requires excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels within the organisation.


KEY TASKS, ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To provide technical advice for online learning across the organisation.
  • Design and develop interactive, engaging, and effective online courses, including supportive digital learning resources.
  • Ability to develop scalable content within a commercial environment.
  • Evaluate and report on the current training modules in order to develop and improve.
  • Undertake CPD to remain relevant with industry trends and best practice.
  • Develop learning content using (but not limited to) the Articulate 360 suite specifically Storyline and RISE.
  • Integrate supporting multimedia into online (e.g., audio, video, and other online resources – list not exhaustive).
  • Administer, troubleshoot, and resolve issues relating to the use of online.
  • Test and quality assure all online products.
  • Be proactive and suggest new learning materials.


General

  • To always demonstrate and uphold the Society’s values and behavioural standards.
  • Ensure compliance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 by complying with internal information governance policies and maintaining up to date as part of RLSS UK’s compliance programme.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential Relevant Experience, Skills and/or Aptitudes

  • Extensive online/ knowledge management systems experience and a solid understanding of content creation and engagement within the online learning space
  • High level of IT knowledge and the ability to adapt to using new software and systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to deliver within agreed timescales.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work on own initiative.
  • Able to work flexibly in line with business requirements and react to challenges.
  • A proactive and positive attitude.
  • The ability to prioritise and project manage


Desirable Relevant Experience, Skills and/or Aptitudes

  • Knowledge and understanding of RLSS UK
