A leading shipyard is looking for an Operations Manager (Trades) to join their team in Norfolk, VA! You will plan, coordinate, and lead the shipyard to success by aligning daily operations with company objectives. As the Operations Manager, you will lead multiple sections of tradesmen through project management, facility management, and employee development. If you're ready to further your career in shipbuilding, please apply today!Responsibilities:Lead 8-10 trades areas: provide direction, guidance, and mentorship to all levels of foremen on site.Champion a positive safety culture and EHS initiatives to promote a safe, clean, and healthy workplace.Monitor all aspects quality and production to ensure all projects are completed on time and up to par with customer expectations.Clearly communicate goals and KPIs to the team to improve workflow across the company.Manage employees though all phases of employment, including, but not limited to: hiring, firing, retention, disciplinary action, etc..Qualifications:3-5 years experience leading a team with multiple trades onsite.Ability to understand job specifications, drawings, and corresponding technical references.Proficiency working with hot work trades a must (welding, grinding, melting, etc.)4-year degree or Register Apprentice grad a plusExperience working with commercial and government projects a plusIf you're a skilled leader with a passion for trades, please apply today!
