Working onsiteat DraxPowerStation, you’ll spend the first 12-18 monthslearning about the plant environment alongsidethe Control & Instrument team including theplant networks that keep allof thecommunications together. As you move through this year youwill start to assist in understandinghow we implement and maintain arobust cyber security presence.

After this you’ll then join the Drax Cyber SecurityTeam to further enhance skills learned across Operational Technology indelivering cyber security controls via projects across the Drax landscape,including Hydro and Biomass Pellet facilities. 

It’s a fast-paced and variedrole, and a great opportunity to develop yourcareer in cyber security with a specific focuson Operational Technology.

Day-to-day responsibilities initially willbe learning on the job with identified mentors within the plant C&I team.After this you’ll be maintaining and developing technology for the OperationalTechnology (OT) SecurityOperations Centre, supporting senior management in thedelivery of the Drax cyber security plan and assisting inthe management of the audit and review process.

Another key aspect of the role will be monitoring andassessing risks that could impact on the OT environments. It’s an opportunity to work with a wide range of stakeholders,from C&I Engineering and Plant Support teams to IT Operations teams. You’llprovide support in identifying emerging threats, conducting analysisand writing intelligence reports specifying how best to mitigate the associatedrisks.

So, what experience do you need? Ideally, you’ll havean academic or professional background in Cyber Security and/or an understanding of Operational Technology /C&I.Alongside this, you’ll need a goodunderstanding of network security technologies and processes. This includes anunderstanding of current and emerging security threats and an awareness ofsystems and methods to counter them.
